Things going pretty slow

Posted by Justin under affiliate marketing, Personal

Well I still haven’t updated the theme or look of this site really other than cleaning up some of the ads, it’s still atrocious though. That seems to be the way things are going for most things in my life at the moment. I’ve been thoroughly distracted with trying to get a new job in the military rather than just getting out. When I got deployed at the beginning of the year my affiliate marketing income seriously fell off. That and there was some MAJOR changes in compliance from the FTC due to a lot of disreputable products/marketing out there which I have to say paid very well and brought me into the whole thing.
I’m trying to start over lately on a strictly legit/long-term with more of a steady stream of income rather than big money fast. Still hoping to get lucky, just kind of starting over from scratch. Not from scratch exactly as I still have 20 or so domains that are rather empty. I’m thinking of moving away from WordPress on most of my sites to help with their staying power in search results. That and, it seems as though you have to make your own themes these days as the “free” ones are over stuffed with links and pretty much non-editable. It just goes to show you how fast things change in the e-world if you fall off for a minute you’re pretty much lost. I’ve been off for almost a year now it seems like and in a totally different universe, lol.
As for products right now I’m experimenting with more rev-share programs and lead-generations rather than Cost-Per-Action networks as I started. You typically get less per sale/etc but it is much easier to get more commissions with these types in most of the products I’m dealing with. I’m also taking it kind of slow to get my site’s compliant with the new FTC guidelines I spoke of earlier.
Anyway, I know this site still receives pretty decent traffic (mostly Russian spammers). Thought it could use an update.

P.S. Oh yeah by the way I thought I’d take this chance to thank the spammers for continually using exploits to keyword/link stuff this site with viagra ads and what not. Thanks a lot, douches.
